Being an entrepreneur is less risky these days

For years most people thought that having a well paid job with the benefits, 401K, and stock options was the golden ticket in life. Marc Cramer, a serial entrepreneur, business consultant, and the author of five books, would strongly disagree with this generally accepted idea. In the modern constantly changing corporate environment this is no longer the case, and all the guarantees are very vague when it comes to your job. So in times of crisis companies may easily switch from treating employees like a family to treating them …

Gen Y – the last generation of entrepreneurs?

The term ‘Generation Y’ refers not only to people born between 1977 and 2000, but to a cohort with its own independent mind set who believe that self-employment is more secure and rewarding than a full-time job. Gen Y is not very devoted to the corporate world, which results in frequent job flipping and vastly ambitious enrollment in entrepreneurial activities.
This generation of young Internet savvy and technologically sophisticated employees is searching for higher levels of independence and personal liberty demanding up-to-date transformation of the work place setting…

The research also showed that younger and older consumers are most likely to buy flowers. New real-time website value calculator

There are plenty website value calculators out there on the Internet. Some of them provide us with hope that our web creations may turn out to be the golden seeds, some abuse us with sheer disappointment. They take into account domain history, number of backlinks, Google PR, Alexa rank, technorati rank, etc. So far, my favorite tool was Dane Carlson’s project powered by Technorati API.
However recently I’ve encountered a brand new value estimator tool called Stimator, which does the same calculations as all the others but it also…

In the 21st century it is extremely hard to find fresh creative ideas for a home-based business. Some people however still manage to come up with rather outrageous ideas and make a living from them.
Surrogacy Abroad Inc. (rentawomb.org)
One in six American families suffers from being childless, which has made surrogacy a common option nowadays. The option is rather costly though. It would cost around $100,000 in the US to rent a womb. But with the help of Chicago-based entrepreneur Benhur Samson it is now possible to…

Got Splogged?

If you are a blogger and have recently used CopyScape.com to find out that someone else is using your content, it would be a wise thing to also run a test whether that site is a scraper or not.
In order to do that you may run a brief test on SpamHuh.com. This will take less than a minute, and you will have an idea as to what kind of site you’re dealing with before filing a complaint to DMCA. SpamHuh is a prototype to identify neatly made splogs that was …

T-Mobile: Dance - the best commercial of January 2009

The best TV commercial of January, 2009 was created by Saatchi & Saatchi. The agency shot “Dance” on Liverpool Street subway station, trying to deliver the message of T-Mobile’s slogan “Life’s for Sharing”. The idea is not principally unique, however it uses “flash mob” in a fun and entertaining way that creates a warm feeling.

The preparation took 8 weeks of nightly rehearsals when the station was closed. The spot was shot in two minutes and forty seconds with 10 hidden cameras, 350 actors, and one cut.
