SearchWiki – Search Engine Optimization going Web 2.0

Just several days ago Google launched SearchWiki, a service that allows users logged into a Google account to customize search results for their needs. Now Googlers can vote up/down websites, delete and add websites, write notes and reviews of any website they like or dislike.

Google claims that these changes only affect the search results of every individual user, however it also states that the results can be shared with other Wiki users. Here’s what Google Blog says about the feature and its goals:

New Gmail themes

Yesterday Google launched their new Gmail themes which allow every user to customize the layout of his e-mail box. Google team has announced they will provide this new function to all Gmail users within the next couple of days. Now my 4 out of 6 accounts (yes, I have 6 actively used Gmail accounts and an account manager) all have different themes. My favorite one so far is the Ninja theme.

Severe Twitterdation

Many prominent online experts these days recommend Twitter as a progressive marketing tool. Darren Rowse of problogger.net even started a new blog dedicated specifically to Twitter.

I’d never bother posting about this Web 1.7 social networking service if the buzz around it wasn’t getting so ridiculous. I strongly believe that this.. tool does not deserve the attention it is getting.

Web 3.0: Are We There Yet?

Many people have tried to define Web 3.0, however even Wikipedia the Almighty does not have a clear explanation as to what Web 2.0 is yet.
What we know so far is that the stages of the development of the Internet may be divided like this:
Web 1.0: Publishing and Information Sharing (The time of CMS, informative “read-only” websites, static personal pages, slow/dial up connection)
